We are committed to extending opera beyond its elitist pedestal and performing in churches, community centers, and schools and colleges, as well as in theaters. We want to keep opera alive by making it accessible to the largest number of performers and audience members, regardless of their age, race, ethnicity, economic circumstance, or level of professional training. We seek to use music as a vehicle to connect audience members, the production crew, the chorus, the soloists, the dancers, and the instrumentalists in an interactive relationship with each other and with the artistic experience. With our education programs, we target students from preschool all the way through college and university-aged populations to introduce younger as well as older people to the excitement, drama, beauty, and fun of opera.

We invite your involvement. Come and enjoy our performances. Join our crew. Help us design sets. Sing with us. We can be at our best if you help and support us in our work.

If you want to get involved, please contact us.

Sincerely,

Connie L. May, Chair
Opera unMet Board of Directors
